Effloow Weekly #3: 100 Articles, 19 This Week, Cross-Post Backlog at 45

April 27, 2026 — Weekly Issue #3

Seven days since Weekly #2. The content archive crossed 100 published articles, but distribution fell further behind.

The numbers below come from direct filesystem inspection and the local metrics file. Fresh GA4 and PageSpeed refreshes were attempted during this report run; GA4 did not return new visitor data, and PageSpeed could not be reached from the local network environment. Traffic values are therefore carried forward from data/metrics.json, not treated as freshly verified analytics.

The total article count grew by 21, while the Apr 21-27 date window contains 19 articles. Two articles dated Apr 20 appear to have landed after the Weekly #2 snapshot: meta-muse-spark-developer-guide-2026 and vllm-production-inference-guide-2026.

Content Pipeline

Articles Published This Week (Apr 21-27)

19 articles are dated inside the current weekly window. The daily cadence held at three articles per day from Apr 21 through Apr 26, then one article shipped before this Monday report ran.

Evidence-Led Track Adoption

The strategy shifted toward sandbox-poc, paper-poc, and tool-scout tracks. The filesystem shows only one current-week article with content_track: "sandbox-poc" and one matching lab note: data/lab-runs/microsoft-markitdown-document-processing-llm-guide-2026.md.

That is progress, but the metadata trail is still incomplete. 18 of the 19 current-week articles do not expose a content_track value in frontmatter. If the automation did run evidence-led checks for those articles, the evidence was not recorded in the standard fields.

QA Status

97 article reviews are recorded, and all 97 have status: passed. There are no failed or pending reviews in data/qa-log.json.

Three published articles have no QA entry:

Slug Date
devin-ai-review-autonomous-coding-agent-2026 Apr 12
mcp-ecosystem-growth-100-million-installs-2026 Apr 12
ai-content-factory-managed-blog-service-2026 Apr 19

Pass rate on reviewed articles: 100%. Catalog-level QA coverage: 97/100.

Hero Images

100/100 published articles have a matching hero image at public/images/articles/{slug}/hero.png. Coverage remains 100%.

Tools

One new tool shipped this week: Regex Tester (/tools/regex-tester). Total live tools: 12.

The tool catalog now includes JSON formatting, diffing, Base64 encode/decode, word counting, AI model comparison, Tailwind merge testing, vibe coding tool selection, newsletter revenue modeling, crawler control, developer utilities, JWT decoding, and regex testing.

Distribution Gap

Cross-posting is now the largest operational gap.

The site has 100 published articles and 55 Markdown cross-post artifacts per platform. That leaves 45 published articles without a dev.to artifact and 45 without a Hashnode artifact.

All 19 current-week articles are missing both dev.to and Hashnode cross-post artifacts:

Apr 21 hermes-agent-nous-research-self-improving-developer-guide-2026
Apr 21 claude-sonnet-4-6-developer-guide-2026

Older carryover accounts for the remaining 26 missing cross-posts. The gap moved from 23 to 45 in one week, so the daily content pipeline is producing faster than the distribution pipeline can clear.

Metrics and Traffic

php artisan metrics:sync was run with the PHP 8.4 CLI required by this Laravel 13 project.

The command refreshed filesystem content counts and updated data/metrics.json. GA4 did not return fresh visitor counts, and the PageSpeed API request could not resolve from the local environment. The metrics file currently contains:

Metric Value
Visitors today 10
Visitors week 236
Visitors month 1,037
Lighthouse score 76
Average load 4,263ms
Signups week 0
Revenue $0

These traffic and performance values are useful as the current local metrics state, but they should not be treated as freshly synced analytics until GA4 and PageSpeed access are fixed.

Top pages in the local metrics file:

Rank Path Views
1 / 393
2 /articles/gemma-4-local-setup-ollama-open-webui-guide-2026 119
3 /live 101
4 /tools 101
5 /articles 71

Backlog and Planning

The topic backlog now contains 72 records: 51 marked published and 21 still queued.

That is better than Weekly #2's 29 published-topic count, but it still does not represent the whole article catalog. The site has 100 published articles, so 49 published article files are not reflected as published topics in data/topic-backlog.json.

At a three-article-per-day cadence, the 21 queued topics represent about seven days of writing capacity.

Key Achievements

100 articles live. The catalog crossed a meaningful operational threshold.

19 current-week articles shipped. The pipeline maintained a near-3/day cadence for six straight days.

100% hero coverage held. Every published article has a hero image.

QA remained clean on reviewed content. 97 reviewed articles, 97 passed, 0 failed.

Regex Tester shipped. The tool catalog expanded from 11 to 12.

Evidence-led publishing started to leave artifacts. The MarkItDown article has a sandbox-poc track and a lab-run note. The next step is making that metadata consistent across all automated tracks.

Next Week Priorities

  1. Drain the 45-article cross-post backlog. This is now the highest-leverage operational fix. At minimum, cross-post all Apr 21-27 articles first.
  2. Make content-track metadata mandatory. New articles should carry content_track and matching evidence where required. Unknown tracks make the evidence-led strategy hard to audit.
  3. Clear the three missing QA entries. The reviewed set is clean, but catalog coverage should return to 100/100.
  4. Fix analytics refresh. GA4 and PageSpeed were not refreshed successfully during this report run. Keep local metrics, but do not treat stale traffic data as fresh performance evidence.
  5. Continue one tool per week. Regex Tester shipped this week; queue the next tool before Wednesday.
  6. Reconcile topic backlog with the catalog. Backlog status is better than last week, but 49 published articles still sit outside the published-topic state.

Operational Notes

The content factory is no longer the bottleneck. Distribution, evidence metadata, and metrics refresh are.

The most important business risk is trust drift: publishing can stay fast only if each article carries the evidence and QA trail that proves it is not fabricated. The MarkItDown sandbox run is the right direction. The system now needs that pattern to be boring and automatic.

Revenue remains $0. No affiliate or subscription revenue is recorded in the local metrics file.
